How To Keep Dog Poop From Smelling Up Garage

Since you’re reading this post on how to keep the dog poop from stinking up your garage, assuming you have a nice clean trash can, assume you’re using cardboard boxes. One would hope that you don’t have the poo just scattered about the place, right? Well, chances are, you will. While you may change the color of your boxes from time to time, there’s a good chance that the smell just won’t go away. And honestly, who wants to deal with a stinky garbage can that is an eyesore to look at.

So what can you do about this problem? Well, here’s one thing that you may want to consider: baking soda. Baking soda is one of those items that has a ton of uses but one you never really think about. I’m going to tell you what you can do with it to get that fresh out of the garbage smell that is lingering in your garage. Sound great?

First, let’s start with the diaper bin. If you ever wondered how to remove the smell from the diaper bin, here’s your chance to find out. All you have to do is pour a little bit of water on the inside of the lid and put your hands around it. Let the water soak into the diapers and you’ll be pretty much set.

What about the trash bins outside? Again, if you have a strong odor, you’ll want to consider this approach. Get a pair of plastic garbage bins outside, preferably those that snap together. Then, whenever you have a minute, gather all of your pooped out items in the kitchen or bathroom and take them out to the garbage bins outside. Don’t throw away the used panties – they smell just as good as the new ones and they’ll save you a bunch of money.

Once you have cleared the trash bins out of your garage and the diaper bin, you can focus on one area. This area should be kept pretty clean at all times, so you might want to consider using some sort of stain remover that won’t harm your baby. You may even want to invest in a carpet stain remover. You may want to use a bit of bleach to get the worst of the stains out, then you’ll be able to vacuum the area quite easily.

Now that you’ve cleaned up the diapers and trash and cleared the area, you need to think about what you can do with that smell. One idea is to use baking soda to absorb the smell. Sprinkle some baking soda down the sides of your car and into the trash, then let it sit for a few days. The baking soda will absorb the dog poop smell, leaving you with clean air to breathe.

If baking soda isn’t your thing, try lemon juice mixed with balsamic vinegar. The smell will smell just like garbage, but it will have a bit of a kick to it. You can repeat this process several times, then take a shower and repeat. The smell will be gone and you’ll have an easy way to get rid of the old, stale dog poop smell in your home. It’s cheap, fast, and you won’t have to deal with the stench.

Your last option would be to have your local diaper Genie machine do the trick. You can buy the diapers and dump them in with your dog poop. A professional diaper Genie will sanitize and dry the diaper, removing the smell. Then you can dispose of the diaper Genie and hopefully, remove that foul smell from your garage.
